SISSEL has captured the hearts of
concert audiences all over the world thanks to her
astonishingly crystal clear voice and one of the most
amazing musical repertoires of any modern artist.

performs live in Des Moines at Hoyt Sherman Place, 1501
Woodland Avenue, on Tuesday, April 22, 8:00
p.m.
Tickets are priced at $55 and $45 may be purchased at the

Best-known as Norway’s
greatest musical superstar, she was introduced to
American audiences as the beautiful young vocalist who
opened the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and went on to
make a dramatic impact on cinema as the alluring vocalist
on the blockbuster soundtrack to Titanic.
SISSEL has shared the stage with superstars including
Celine Dion, Sting, Moby, Angelique Kidjo, Willie Nelson,
Diana Krall, Josh Groban, as well as duets with Danish
punk band Sort Sol (Black Sun) and rapper Warren G -- the
latter producing a hit single across Europe. She’s
toured and sung at Carnegie Hall with The Chieftains and
appeared twice on Late Night with David
Letterman and performed on Good
Morning America both alone and with Placido Domingo.
SISSEL’s Christmas CD, Spirit Of The Season -
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra At Temple
Square with SISSEL, is nominated for two
Grammys: Best
Classical Crossover Album and Best Engineered Album -
Classical. Spirit of the
Season maintained the #1 spot on
the Billboard
Classical
Chart for nine consecutive weeks and
includes recordings from her guest appearance with the
Mormon Tabernacle Choir for their 2006 annual Christmas
concert.
SISSEL’s most current CD and DVD,
Northern
Lights (released November 2007)
features special guest world-renowned tenor Jose
Carreras. Northern
Lights was taped in pure
high-definition video at an historic wooden church in one
of the most rarely seen locations on Earth: the tiny
Norwegian village of Roros.
Although SISSEL’s remarkable repertoire includes
music closest to her heart – Norwegian folk music
and timeless songs from her native country – she
performs most of her material in English, her second
language after her native Scandinavian.
